About the Department

The Department of Orthopaedics at AIIMS Gorakhpur was established in 2019 with three founding faculty members.
With more than 500 patients attending OPD every day, the Department of Orthopaedics is among the busiest at AIIMS Gorakhpur.
The department aspires to establish itself as a leading institution in the realm of diverse joint replacement surgeries (including revision surgeries),
arthroscopic (diagnostic & therapeutic) surgeries, spinal surgeries, and the management of intricate pelviacetabular cases.
It is dedicated to delivering exceptional surgical and medical care of the highest standard.

In the outpatient department, we provide consultation services in addition to minor procedures such as intra-articular injections, plaster application for fractures,
and management of paediatric foot and ankle deformities.

Our 45-bed inpatient department is currently operating at full capacity, achieving 100% bed occupancy consistently.

Apart from clinical work, faculty members are actively involved in teaching undergraduates, postgraduates, and senior residents.
Faculty members are also engaged in departmental research activities with various ongoing projects.
