INTRODUCTION

Department of Neurology at AIIMS Gorakhpur started on 8th October 2024. We envision to become a leading Neurology centre, for quality medical training, patient care and research.

FACILITIES

1 . Outpatients Services

General OPD: With the aim to cater population of this region, adjacent states and the country we started with Neurology OPD in October 2024. General Neurology OPD caters patients suffering from various neurological disorders including headache, seizures/epilepsy, stroke, movement disorders, demyelinating disorders, sleep disorders, neuromuscular disorders etc.

GOALS

Short term

  • To start DM (Neurology) training programme.
  • To start Neurology Lab services/IPD services/Speciality Clinics/ Services

Long Term

  • To provide quality patient care..
  • To train highly competent and committed health care professionals.
  • To pursue focused and in-depth research in the different specialities of neurology.
  • To create public health awareness for prevention, early detection and available management of neurological disorders.

FUTURE VISION

  1. Establishment of various division of Anaesthesiology
  • Division of Critical Care
  • Division of Pediatric Anaesthesia
  • Division of Neuroanaesthesia
  • Division of Cardiac Anaesthesia
  • Division of Pain and palliative care
  • Division of Trauma Anaesthesia
  • Division of Transplant anaesthesia
  1. To start PDCC and DM courses in various division of Anaesthesiology.
  2. To start skill based learning i.e. establishment of simulation lab.
  3. Training and teaching of-
  • Basic life support skills to medical and non medical personal (customized)
  • Public awareness programme
  • Out reach programme

OTHER INFORMATION

In collaboration with other departments plan is to start Deep brain stimulation surgery for Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders. Epilepsy monitoring unit and Epilepsy surgery program.
