About the Department
The Department of AYUSH at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Gorakhpur
was established to integrate traditional systems of medicine with modern healthcare delivery.
The department focuses on patient-centered holistic care through
Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Homeopathy, and Unani.
Vision
To establish AYUSH as a cornerstone of holistic healthcare by integrating traditional wisdom
with contemporary scientific approaches.

- Delivering high-quality clinical services in AYUSH.

Currently Available Services

Outpatient (OPD) Services:
Available in Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, and Homeopathy. -
Teleconsultation Services:
Remote consultation services are provided for Unani. -
Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services:
Includes Panchakarma therapies, Yoga-based interventions, and lifestyle counseling. -
Medical Education & Training Programs:
B.Sc Nursing students are posted on a rotational basis in AYUSH OPD and Panchakarma Unit,
where they are trained in patient care, traditional therapy techniques, lifestyle counseling,
and integrative healthcare approaches. -
Community Outreach Programs:
The Department of AYUSH, AIIMS Gorakhpur, celebrates International Yoga Day (21st June) every year
as part of its outreach initiatives to promote awareness about Yoga’s benefits in physical,
mental, and spiritual well-being. -
Collaborative Care:
Works with other departments to provide integrative management of diseases.
