All India Institute of Medical Sciences Gorakhpur was established in 2019 to provide quality tertiary care to the people of Eastern Uttar Pradesh and dedicated itself to becoming a paragon of healthcare excellence, education, and research in India. Eastern Uttar Pradesh region has always lagged behind in healthcare services and caters to a huge population from India and neighbouring Nepal. It is an apex healthcare institution created by an Act of Parliament by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY) with the primary objective to develop a center of excellence in medical education, academic research and imparting quality health care.Our mission is to deliver high-quality healthcare services, simultaneously cultivating an environment conducive to advanced medical education.

A key aspect of our strategy has been integrating digital health systems and transforming patient management. Streamlining the registration processes and enhancing patient satisfaction.

Education remains a cornerstone of our institution’s mission. We proudly admit 125 MBBS and 60 B.Sc. Nursing students annually, alongside a vibrant postgraduate program. Recent expansions in our educational offerings reflect our commitment to developing skilled healthcare professionals. Our commitment to quality healthcare is recognized through numerous accolades. We are continually investing in infrastructure development to meet the growing demand for services. Looking ahead, our focus remains on enhancing the quality of care, expanding educational opportunities, and fostering research and innovation. The establishment of new departments demonstrates our commitment to addressing emerging health challenges. Our administrative initiatives, including the Collegium system, empower faculty and staff to participate in decision-making, promoting a collaborative environment.

As this Institute’s Executive Director and CEO, my primary responsibility is to see that the students here get the best possible education, enabling them to become successful doctors, scholars, and researchers. This can be attained following a high standard of medical education going along the lines of other quality health care institutions. We would also like to attain self-sufficiency in postgraduate medical education and initiate super-specialty courses at this institute. Along with this, we also would like to achieve the actual mandate of an Institute like AIIMS, which is to provide quality tertiary care services with the help of eminent consultants in various fields and using the best available medical technology in the world. Lastly, equal emphasis will also be laid on academic research, including publications and extramural projects, helping the institute make a name for itself nationally.
