About the Department
The Department of Neurology at AIIMS Gorakhpur was established on
8th October 2024.
The department envisions becoming a leading center of excellence in Neurology, dedicated to
quality medical training, advanced patient care, and cutting-edge research.
Currently Available Services
-
Outpatient (OPD) – General Neurology:
The OPD caters to patients with a wide range of neurological disorders including
headache, seizures/epilepsy, stroke, movement disorders, demyelinating disorders,
sleep disorders, and neuromuscular disorders. -
Specialty Clinics:
Dedicated clinics are available for Epilepsy, Headache,
and CNS Autoimmune Disorders.
GOALS
Short term
- To start DM (Neurology) training programme.
- To start Neurology Lab services/IPD services/Speciality Clinics/ Services
Long Term
- To provide quality patient care..
- To train highly competent and committed health care professionals.
- To pursue focused and in-depth research in the different specialities of neurology.
- To create public health awareness for prevention, early detection and available management of neurological disorders.

- To start PDCC and DM courses in various division of Anaesthesiology.
- To start skill based learning i.e. establishment of simulation lab.
- Training and teaching of-
- Basic life support skills to medical and non medical personal (customized)
- Public awareness programme
- Out reach programme
OTHER INFORMATION
In collaboration with other departments plan is to start Deep brain stimulation surgery for Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders. Epilepsy monitoring unit and Epilepsy surgery program.
