The first batch of MBBS students at AIIMS Gorakhpur celebrated Basant Panchami on 30th January with great pomp and gusto. The weather rejoiced their enthusiasm by providing a happily sunny sky, bird songs, and fresh wafts of gentle wind. Decorations started an evening before, and to the amazement of the faculty and staff, the rangolis and festoons were ready early in the morning, well in time for the Saraswati Puja. The morning celebration was followed by rangoli and pot-decoration competitions, which were judged after the evening Puja.
The evening Puja was followed by devotional dances, songs, hymns, and an amazing quiz on Basant Panchami in which both students and faculty participated with equal fervor. The event ended with delicious snacks and sweets for the audience and participants.
