Multidisciplinary Research Unit
Overview
The Multidisciplinary Research Unit (MRU) at AIIMS Gorakhpur has been a path-breaking initiative that has significantly strengthened the health research infrastructure. It has been established in collaboration with the Department of Health Research and the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi, with the aim of promoting, coordinating, and developing basic, applied, and clinical research activities.
Vision
The unit strives for continuous growth and excellence in research, healthcare delivery, and education, with the goal of becoming a nationally and internationally recognized centre of excellence in healthcare and medical research.
Aim of Establishment
The MRU has been set up to promote, coordinate, and develop basic, applied, and clinical research. It emphasizes collaborative initiatives with other research organizations and aims to evolve into a recognized centre of excellence.
Funding Agency / Grant Support
The unit receives financial support from the Department of Health Research (DHR), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. The grant funding is dedicated to strengthening research infrastructure and supporting innovative scientific projects.
Local Research Advisory Committee (LRAC)
The research priorities and project selection at MRU are guided by the Local Research Advisory Committee (LRAC), comprising state and central health officials as well as institutional experts.
