CME on ‘Spinal Cord Injury Amidst Covid-19’
On Occasion of World Spinal Cord Injury Day 2020

The Covid-19 pandemic has been an unprecedented time for all, with or without disability. Persons with spinal cord injury are more vulnerable than others and often suffer severe complications and poor disease outcome. Better patient and caregiver education is the need of the hour.
Our focus will be on prevention and management of health issues in persons with Spinal Cord Injuries, in view of Covid -19.
In continuation of the serving spirit, and to commemorate World Spinal Cord Injury Day, under guidance of Respected Executive Director AIIMS Gorakhpur and CME Patron Dr Surekha Kishore, a virtual National CME on theme ‘SCI Amidst Covid-19’ was organized on 05th September 2020 by Dept. of PMR, AIIMS Gorakhpur, in association with Awadh Association of PMR.
Highlights of CME:
1) 1st virtual National CME of AIIMS Gorakhpur.
2) Total of 8 Speakers and 251 registered participants from reputed national and international institutes from across the nation and the world.
3) Housefull participation till the last minute; Facebook live streaming reached almost 500 views within hours.
4) Star attraction: Justin, a quadriplegic international para-swimming champion, with 20 gold medals.
