Deputy Director Administration Biographical

Col Akhilesh Singh hails from a deeply rooted military background. His family carries forward a rich legacy of Military Traditions, with his wife being an Ex-Serving officer from Indian Army and son who is presently an Infantry Officer.

Col Akhilesh Singh is alumnus of Indian Military Academy and was commissioned in the Corps of Signals of Indian Army. He has had the honour of attending the coveted Defence Services Staff Course at Wellington, TN. He is an engineering graduate from prestigious University of Pune. He also holds master’s degree in Defence and Strategic Studies from Madras University and MA in Journalism from MKCU, Bhopal. He has also pursued MBA under the aegis of College of Military Management, Jabalpur

He has had a chequered service in Indian Army spanning across the entire geographical expanse of the country. He has a vivid experience as an administrator, Staff Officer, Networks Manager and Instructor. He has had multiple operational tenures in Jammu and Kashmir. He has had two tenures at Army HQ, Delhi in important staff appointments.

Col Akhilesh Singh has commanded one of the largest and operationally active Divisional Signal Regiments along Line of Control in active Counter Insurgency/Terrorism Environment. The Officer was responsible for training/skilling of officers and men in his tenures at premium training institutes of Corps of Signal. He has also been a Military Observer and Staff Officer in the UN Mission at Democratic Republic of Congo.

He has a rich experience of more than Two and Half Decades in the field of Network Management, Administration and Instruction.

Col Akhilesh Singh has taken over charge of Deputy Director Administration of AIIMS Gorakhpur w.e.f 22 february 2025.
