INTRODUCTION

The Department of Pharmacology was started in February 2020.
It aims to train the MBBS students on the fundamentals of Pharmacotherapy.
The Dept. has following Faculty as of 17th August 2020

FACILITIES

The Department tends to have Clinical Pharmacology Lab , Experimental Pharmacology Lab, Computer Assisted Learning Lab , Therapeutic Drug Monitoring Lab, Adverse Drug Reaction(ADR) Monitoring Centre, demonstration rooms, well equipped museum and a library for undergraduates, postgraduates and faculty.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

The Department has a short-term goal of training MBBS students on principles of pharmacotherapy and rational drug therapy in practice. The department tends to train the students on how drugs act and which drugs to be prescribed while understanding the pathophysiological states. The department also tends to train the students as well as health care personnel regarding adverse drug reactions and develop an ADR monitoring Centre for reporting of ADRs to the national coordinating Centre, IPC, Ghaziabad

FUTURE VISION

    The department aims to have a well -equipped research and experimental lab, expand the ADR monitoring services, start a TDM lab for monitoring the drug concentrations and start MD and PhD courses.

      OTHER INFORMATION

      Courses :-

      At present, the department aims to start teaching course for MBBS students. In future, the department tends to initiate MD and PhD courses, conduct workshops on research methodology, Pharmacovigilance, Good Clinical Practice and Post-Doctoral Certificate Course (PDCC)in Clinical Trials
